Lawrence M. Kaye Secretary
Lawrence M. Kaye is a litigation partner at the New York law firm of Herrick, Feinstein LLP, where he heads Herrick, Feinstein's Art Law Practice Group. He is a 1970 graduate of St. John's Law School where he was Editor-In-Chief of the St. John's Law Review. Mr. Kaye has practiced art and cultural property law for thirty years. In addition to counseling museums, art galleries, auction houses, dealers, artists, collectors and owners on a variety of art related issues, he has represented foreign governments, victims of the Holocaust, families of renowned artists and other claimants in connection with the recovery of art and antiquities. Among notable matters he has handled were the recovery of works by Kazimir Malevich on behalf of his heirs, from New York's Museum of Modern Art and Harvard University. Mr. Kaye has written and lectured extensively on art law topics, including international art litigation and the repatriation of cultural property. |
